Princes Of The Universe

The music video was directed by Russel Mulcahy and was shot on one of the sets used for the film, featuring a sword fight between Christopher Lambert and Freddie Mercury intercut with scenes from the movie. The video was actually played quite a bit on music video stations (in the US) when this single came out, despite not charting. Up until its eventual release on Greatest Flix III (VHS, 1999) and Greatest Video Hits 2 (DVD, 2003), it was rarely seen by fans outside North America, elevating its possession to that of a collector's item.

Musically, it is complex, with many different sections in different tempos and with different instrument ensembles. The overall sound is mostly hard, driving electric guitars, with sections of chorale singing. The song has some characteristics of a power metal song, such as fantastic lyrics, powerful vocals and fast guitar.

"Outside"

The song was seen as a fine self-deprecating public relations exercise by George, as it was the first single since he was infamously arrested for engaging in a lewd act six months earlier by an undercover police officer in a Beverly Hills public lavatory; an incident which prompted him to declare the homosexuality which had been rumoured for some years but never confirmed.

George took a swipe at the incident in the lyrics, claiming he wanted an alfresco sex life because he was bored with lovemaking behind closed doors. Reference to the Beverly Hills affair came with the line "I'd service the community" (he was sentenced to 80 hours' community service for the offence) and direct samples of radio reports of his arrest. The video was especially satirical, featuring disco ball urinals and policemen kissing.

The police officer who arrested him, Marcelo Rodriguez, filed a lawsuit, claiming the video mocked him. Initially it was dismissed, but the appeals court reopened the case in 2002.

"Scream"

"Scream" was a duet between Michael and his sister Janet written by both Jacksons and the production team of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. It dealt with the mass media attention both siblings had received in their careers. The track is backed by a number of remixes by prolific artists including DJ David Morales, rap group Naughty by Nature and record producer Dave Hall
"Scream" remains as one of Michael's most well-received music videos. Directed by Mark Romanek, the video has a heavy sci-fi theme with features of anime and pop culture (such as Andy Warhol's self portrait). At $7,000,000 in expense, the video is the most expensive video of all time. The "Scream" video went on to win several MTV Video Music Awards and a Grammy Award for Best Short Form Music Video.

Freeek!

With the computer terminology of the track, "Freeek!" is obviously about cybersex, and it's done in a wonderfully intense way, and yet with George's tongue firmly in cheek. Some may indeed cry "sell out" and/ or find this to be a regression for Michael, because if you're looking for the rewarding sophistication that's in abundance on his "Older" album, forget it. But what the hell, this is an irresistible track--the way George pulls it off is characteristic of his enormous talent, yet it's still beyond all belief. One thing though that I can't forget to mention is that George is still in absolute peak form vocally here.

Hella Good

I think it is the best No doubt music video
This music video was directed by Mark Romanek. It features the band in a black and white thriller-type of video, as the band plays the part of treasure divers. They roam the sewers looking for goods, and waterjet around the harbor. It also features brief clips of the video game Jet Set Radio Future.
